"Truth is one, paths are many."

Brahma (the supreme God)

Is one drop of water the same as a whole ocean?

They may be the same because if you took a drop of water from the ocean, it would be the same as the original drop. Yet,                     they are different as the ocean water came from a different place and is much bigger.

Hindus belive that there is a drop of God in any soul, and your purpose is to find that peice. They belive that                                               there are  many ways to get there, but that as long as you get there, the way that you do it is okay. Hindus                                                   believe that there are four paths that you can take to get to God. The four branches are Saiva, Shakta,                                                         Vaishnava, and Smarta. They call God different things, some worship God as female and others worship him as                                         male. They are similar as they have similar rituals/customs and they al beleive that there is one main God, but                                           his being is in many other gods and goddesses that are not as supreme as him.

It is also believed that there is one main God and that he is supreme, and beyond phyical capacity.                                                               Then, God is in different gods and goddesses. The gods and godesses are more tied to the human                                                               world and are prayed to.

For example, someone might pray to the god Ganesha before they started a project                                                                                          becasue he is the god of obstacles. This would be in hope that he would remove any                                                                                      obstacles in their way.
