The Scriptures

The religous scriptures in Hinduism are "The Vedas" There are four books. Many priests memorize much of the texts. The books are writen in Sanskrit and are used in religous ceremonies.

In Hinduism, the Vedas are very important. The Vedas guide the religious ceremonies, give instructions for building temples, and guides on how to live a Hindu life. As in many other religions, the holy texts give structures for worship and how to practice Hinduism in general.

The four books in the Varnas are the Agamas, the Puramas, the Tirukural, and the Upanishads.
